1. PM Database Connection

   • If a customer plans to update the "Additional" tab in the Registration module of CPS, the PM database connection needs to be configured.
   • To configure the PM database connection, sign in as the Application Administrator and choose to edit the customer's PM connection:
     



2. Updating Authorizations on the "Additional" Tab in Registration Module of CPS

   • In the Registration module of CPS, there is an "Additional" tab. On that tab, there are 4 Authorization fields: Signature on File, Release Pt Info, Privacy Policy, and Benefit Assignment:
     
   • Some organizations like to update those fields when patients sign certain Authorization documents. If the proper Output Specifications are included in a VSC template, as shown below, the fields shown above can be updated automatically when a document is signed in VSC. Note that this example shows all 4 fields being updated by a single template, but in a more typical case, each Authorization field might be updated by a different template, each of which uses one of these Output Specifications.

     NOTE: If you want the PDF file created or other data sent back using HL7, the appropriate output specifications would also need to be included.

   
   • The corresponding files, properly configured (see below), also need to be included in VSC:
     
   • Once the above items are in place, a document signed by a patient would update the Authorization fields in Signature Capture:
     

3. Configuring the Authorization Output Specification Files

   • If you open up the output specification files, each one will have a line with a <content> tag. For example, here is SIGNATURE_ON_FILE:
     
   • These values can differ from database to database.  Before you can use these Output Specifications, you must query your database and find the ID numbers that correspond to the Authorization entry you would like to use.  Run the following query against your CPS database:
     
     SELECT [MedListsId] ,[TableName] ,[Code] ,[ANSI] ,[Description] ,[ListOrder] ,[UserNotes]
     FROM [MedLists] WHERE TableName in ('PrivacyPolicyAcknowledgment','ReleaseOfInformationIndicator', 'BenefitAssignment','SignatureSources')
     order by TableName,MedListsId;
   
   
   • It will return a result set like the one shown below. Replace the value in the <content> tag with the MedListID value appropriate to the Description you would like to show for each Authorization.
     
   • Authorization Output Specifications write directly to the database when the VSC document is signed and submitted. They do not create an HL7 file.
